Ceredigion Coast Path

Wales Coast Path Ceredigion

Wales Walking Holidays are pleased to offer the 72 miles Ceredigion section of the Welsh Coast Path starting from Machynlleth.

Here is our 8 Nights, 7 Days walking sample itinerary. A 7 Nights, 6 Days Walking itinerary or a 6 Nights, 5 Days Walking itinerary also available on request.

The path takes you from Machynlleth in the Dovey valley to Cardigan, on the River Teifi.  Machynlleth continues from our Wales Coast Path-Meirionnydd itinerary as well as joining Glyndŵr’s Way. If you want to continue along the Wales Coast Path from Cardigan, this is where you join the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.

The stunning Cardigan Bay coastline, which is designated as Britain’s first Marine Heritage Coast, will be your constant companion during the walk.  Bottlenose dolphins, porpoises and seals are spotted on a daily basis as you cross numerous sandy beaches, undulating cliff tops descending to secluded coves and fascinating fishing villages. The University town of Aberystwyth, the colourful harbour village of Aberaeron with its spectacular Regency architecture, New Quay with its connections to the poet Dylan Thomas, and Cardigan itself with its renovated castle dating back to the times of Lord Rhys in the 12th century, are all part of this fantastic walk in an area so important to Wales and the Welsh culture.
