The Wales Coast Path is an 870 mile long distance walking route following the entire coastline of Wales from Queensferry in the north to Chepstow in the south, including the Isle of Anglesey in the north west.

 

Wales is the first country in the world to provide a dedicated footpath close to most of its coastline.

Walking The Wales Coast Path by Section

Wales Coast Path North

This section of the Wales Coast Path is a 76 mile (123 km) easy route, starting in Cheshire on the Flintshire border in North East Wales and covers the North Wales Coast all the way to Bangor in Gwynedd.

Wales Coast Path Llŷn

This 112 miles (179 km)  path starts at the university city of Bangor, Gwynedd and follows the Menai Straits to the Royal Town of Caernarfon around the Llŷn Peninsula to Aberdaron, south to Cricieth ending at the harbour town of Porthmadog. Moderate to strenuous.

Wales Coast Path Ceredigion

T​his 72 miles (116km) section sweeps around Cardigan Bay. The Ceredigion Path with its varied landscape, wealth of wildlife, geological and archaeological features makes it an unique section of the 870 mile Wales Coast Path.

Carmarthenshire Coast Path

The Carmarthenshire Coastal Path, a lovely section of the Wales Coast Path.  The 74 mile (119 km) path, from Amroth to Penclawdd takes you along a varied route around estuaries, farmland and historic sites with a number of castles on the trail. Laugharne Castle is one of these, a village closely associated with the iconic poet Dylan Thomas.

Anglesey Coastal Path

135 miles (217 km)  of magnificent coastline around the Isle of Anglesey. Long beaches, rugged and remote coast, wildlife, fauna and history.  Easy to moderate, strenuous in parts.

Wales C P Meirionnydd

69 mile (111 km) route from Porthmadog, following the Cambrian coastline through Meirionnydd to the Mawddach estuary in Machynlleth. Easy to moderate path with spectacular views to Cader Idris, the Snowdonia ranges and the Llŷn Peninsula.

Wales Coast Path Pembrokeshire

The 179 mile (288 km) Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, is the most established trail of the whole Wales Coast Path.  A truly delightful coastline, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path gained National Trail status in 1970.

Gower Coast Path

The Gower Peninsula  Britain's first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) boasts some of the most spectacular beaches in the UK.  A short 43 mile path (69 km) with ever-changing landscape, marshland, rugged cliffs, majestic headlands and coves with enchanting beaches at Rhossili Bay and Three Cliffs Bay.
